3 Gods: Evolution, Sex, and Government
In our modern age, humanity has not abandoned the worship of gods—we have simply replaced the true God with new idols. Three false deities now demand our allegiance: Evolution, Sex, and Government. Each claims the power, wisdom, and authority that rightfully belong only to the Creator of heaven and earth.
Evolution: The God of Blind Chance
Evolution has been elevated to the status of an all-knowing deity. Only the true God is omniscient—possessing perfect knowledge of all things. Yet many insist that nature itself somehow “knows” how life should develop, adapt, and improve across unimaginable spans of time. “Nature will find a way,” they proclaim with great confidence.
This is a staggering act of faith. It is no different from claiming that a car has the innate knowledge and wisdom to design and assemble itself, or that a house possesses the intelligence to draw its own blueprints and construct its own walls. The evolutionist places unlimited trust in an impersonal process, believing that random mutations, time, and chance can produce the staggering complexity of life—from the intricate machinery of a single cell to the wonders of the human mind.
Only the eternal God has always existed. He created time and space itself. Yet the evolutionist grants these created things the same eternal status as their Creator, stretching billions of years into the past to give the illusion of self-existence. What profound faith this requires—faith not in a loving, purposeful God, but in an unguided, indifferent mechanism.
Sex: The God of Self and Desire
Sex, too, has become a powerful god in our culture. We are pressured to bow before its demands and set aside our deepest convictions. To question abortion or transgender ideology is to risk being labeled anti-woman, bigoted, or “transphobic.” Political careers can rise or fall based on one’s willingness to affirm these new orthodoxies.
Consider the scale of the sacrifice demanded by this idol. Since Roe v. Wade, more than 63 million unborn children have been aborted in America alone. Their blood, like the blood of righteous Abel slain by his brother Cain, cries out to God from the ground (Genesis 4:10). How much louder must the collective cry of 63 million innocent lives rise before heaven?
The destruction does not end there. The ideology of transgenderism has led many—especially vulnerable young people—down a path of irreversible harm. Children are being given life-altering drugs and surgeries that mutilate healthy bodies and render them sterile. They are told they can change their sex, yet they will never be able to have biological children of their own. Tragically, many who walk this road later face deep regret, mental anguish, and elevated rates of suicide.
Those who refuse to bend the knee to this god of sex often face social ostracism, professional consequences, and public shaming. The message is clear: conform or be cast out. This is not liberation—it is a new form of religious totalitarianism dressed in the language of compassion and progress.
Government: The God of Provision and Control
Christianity itself is increasingly under siege. Believers who defend the unborn are labeled “Christian nationalists” and portrayed as dangerous extremists. Peaceful advocates who stand outside abortion facilities to offer help and alternatives can be arrested, fined, or imprisoned. The message from the powerful is unmistakable: God’s Word and God’s people are threats to the new social order.
At the same time, government is aggressively positioning itself as the ultimate provider and savior. When people lack food, housing, healthcare, or security, they are trained to look first to the state. Dependence is cultivated. Self-reliance and trust in God are quietly undermined.
The Bible teaches that God is our Provider. “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Yet the modern administrative state seeks to take His place—offering security in exchange for freedom and loyalty. What begins as assistance can too easily become control. When government becomes god, liberty withers and the human soul is diminished.
Returning to the True God
These three modern idols—Evolution, Sex, and Government—promise wisdom, freedom, and security. In reality, they deliver confusion, destruction, and bondage. They ask us to deny obvious realities about life, sex, biology, and human nature. They demand that we silence our consciences and abandon the God who formed us in His image.
The true God still reigns. He is not silent. He still calls His people to stand with courage, speak truth in love, and trust Him above every earthly power. The blood of the innocent cries out, and the Creator who formed each child in the womb hears every voice.
May we have the wisdom and boldness to reject these false gods and return our hearts to the only One worthy of our worship—the God who created us, redeems us, and will one day make all things right.
