Disappeared Persons Day
We should have a day called “Disappeared Persons Day”. It is said that 28% of Gen Z has been deleted in the name of women’s rights. As a music teacher, that 28% is equal to 6 music classes or 116 students this year. These 116 souls will never walk through the door of my music room. This number is not accurate though. The majority of my students are Hispanic. A small Hispanic is twice as likely to be deleted as a Caucasian. So, the number of my disappeared persons is higher. Most of them were just not deemed convenient. I am sure some of them were going to be talented singers and musicians. I think they deserve a day to be remembered - Disappeared Persons Day!
